Homers cafe, Eastwood

Wednesday 25 April 2012

Homers cafe is a very popular place among the locals of Eastwood. Homers is best known for their desserts and late night opening hours. They have indoor as well as an outdoor dining area, situated close to the fountain in Eastwood square.

Homers has a huge menu offering salads, burgers, pastas, steaks and fish and chips. The dessert menu is just has big offering deep fried mars bars (delicious but I've had my quota of 1/year!), sundaes, parfaits, cakes, tarts and pancakes.

Intending only to go out for a coffee with a friend before dinner, we got a table inside and spotted the delicious looking Mexican pizza ($11.80).

Ground beef, onions, cheese, topped with sour cream, salsa and corn chips, it was just as delicious as it looked! Luckily it was only medium sized and that ended up being our dinner.

We also got our coffees as intended. A mocha for me ($4.50)

Ayano had the hazelnut latte ($4.50)

Linda joined us a bit later and she ordered the banana pancakes for dinner! Tut tut :) ($11.80). The pancakes where really big and very filling. They were served with ice ceam, lots of whipped cream, a banana and what seemed like a quarter of a strawberry haha. The pancakes were thin with a nice texture and not at all doughy. Very good even if they were a little stingy with the fruit.
