Dodgy dumplings

Sunday, 8 April 2012

An old haunt we frequent on our trips down to Melbourne. Situated in chinatown off little russel st, a place we've nicknamed dodgy dumplings. The place has large servings of a wide variety of dumplings, noodle and rice dishes, self serve tea and snappy waitresses. Not to mention the stereotypical Chinatown feel of dirty and dodgy, hence the nickname, dodgy dumplings.

We arrived early so the place was still fairly quite ( it was pretty busy after about 30mins). Around 10mins after we placed our orders the food started arriving, dumplings and more dumplings.

A plate of steamed pork dumplings, pan fried prawn dumplings, dumplings in chili oil and fried rice.

We also got shallot pancakes, a serving of vegetables topped with oyster sauce and A plate of noodles.

Despite the nickname we enjoy going to this place because the food is nice, fast and they have large portions. Though we weren't too full to have dessert! For dessert we made out way to Melbourne central for harajuku crepes. I had the banana and almond crepe, it was delicious, I wish they would bring the franchise to sydney.
