First Tapas Experience!

Sunday, 8 April 2012

After an epic morning of shopping at the South wharf DFO, Spanish tapas was an excellent way to replenish our reserves. The Bohemian, located along dukes walk Southbank is where we had lunch.

The place was open and well lit with plenty to choose from on the menu. we started with the Spanish potato tortillas , $6.50. Bite sized morsels of cut potatoes topped with tomato relish, creme and chives. They certainly got our appetites going.

Cod Croquetas $5. Crumb and fried to a golden colour with a mixture of cod and vegetable filling.

Chicken winglets. Marinated honey, soy and garlic. They were very tasty though a little salty for my liking.

Chorizo! $4.5

Cochinillo $25.5. Suckling pig, poached onion compact & carrot ice cream... Thats right CARROT ice cream. This dish was beautiful, the suckling pig was tender and juicy with crispy crackling. The carrot ice cream had a light flavour that complimented the pig just as well as the onion compact. Definately the best dish we had.

And lastly we had the mixed paella. Muscles, prawns, capsicum and lemon on top of rice. The rice, infused with all the flavours of the seafood was extremely tasty and the rice on the bottom of the paella pan was a bit crispy ( I love crispy rice). The only thing was that this dish was also a little salty.
